A quieter weekend, but still worth getting out. Compared to some weeks, this one was a little lighter on the calendar but "quieter" didn't mean there was nothing worth catching. From the Radio Room's own four-band bill to a run of free porch shows scattered across Greenville, Greer, and Spartanburg, there was still plenty to do for anyone willing to get out.
Saturday Night at The Melon Barn
We spent our Saturday night at The Melon Barn in Greer, catching Jest headline a stacked four-band bill alongside The Oyster, Mojarra, and Jesus Is the Path to Heaven, all for just $10 at the door. It was easily one of the best-value nights on the calendar this weekend, and Jest brought exactly the kind of energy that makes a Saturday night out worth it. If you weren't there, keep The Melon Barn on your radar. It's proving to be one of the Upstate's better rooms for a night of solid, back-to-back local sets.
